At Astra Behavioral Health, our Board Certified and Licensed therapists specialize in behavioral health treatment for all age groups. Therapists at Astra use a variety of evidence based treatment modalities to best suit the needs of our clients. All therapy services can be provided to clients through our HIPAA-secure telehealth platform or in-person at any of our offices locations. Therapeutic services provided include:

  • Psychosocial Assessments

  • Diagnosing

  • Individual Therapy

  • Family Therapy

  • Couples/Marriage Therapy

During a Psychosocial Assessment, our licensed therapists will interview the client to obtain a detailed biopsychosocial history. This evaluation provides the therapist with information to help formulate a diagnostic impression and begin the treatment planning process with the client. Sometimes more than one session will be required to complete this assessment. Once the assessment is complete and a treatment plan has been developed, the client and therapist will determine the frequency of sessions to best suit your needs.

In Individual Therapy, each client works one-on-one with a licensed therapist to gain insight and increase awareness and control over their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Our therapists provide a safe and confidential environment where clients can explore and process experiences which may be causing challenges in their relationships and other areas of life. Our therapists also helps each client identify specific goals for treatment and provides support and feedback during each session. Individual therapy may be short-term or long-term depending on the needs and goals of each client.

Family Therapy is a type of treatment designed to help with issues that specifically affect families' mental health and functioning. It can aid individual family members in building stronger relationships, improving communication, and managing conflicts within the family system. In Family Therapy, family members can discuss the presenting problem(s) in a safe space of vulnerability while expressing their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. The primary goals of family therapy is to create a better home environment, solve family issues, and understand the unique issues that a family might be facing.

Family therapy can help with many different issues. Some of these include:

  • Behavioral problems in adolescents

  • Changes within the family

  • Communication problems

  • Death of a loved one

  • Divorce, separation, or marital problems

  • Parent-child conflicts

  • Problems between siblings
