Day Treatment Programs
for Children & Adolescents

Astra's Day Treatment Programs are designed to help children and adolescents in need of  intensive mental health treatment, rather than solely outpatient therapy, and who are at potential risk of hospitalization or out of school placement. Traditional Day Treatment is provided in a separate office, off school property, and is structured to treat behavioral symptoms, maintain or improve function and help integrate students back into a regular school routine.

Traditional Day Treatment locations:

Bardstown, KY - Monday thru Friday, all year round

Ages: Kindergarten - 12th Grade

Hardinsburg, KY - Monday thru Friday, all year round

Ages: Kindergarten - 5th Grade

In addition to our traditional Day Treatment program in, we created the ABLE (Adaptive Behavioral Learning Environment) program in Bardstown as a secondary option to traditional Day Treatment. ABLE is an on-campus day treatment program providing treatment for students in second grade through eighth grade. In the ABLE program, students spend their school day at a on-campus program space. During the school day, their schedule will be split between a half-day of academics and the other half-day consisting of group and individual therapy, where they focus on interventions such as behavior management, coping skills and conflict resolution.

Services included in our Day Treatment program:

  • Psychiatric Consultations and Medication Management

  • Educational services including regular class instruction

  • Individual, Group and Family Therapy

  • Targeted Case Management

  • Support and guidance for parents

  • Working as a liaison between the patient, parent/guardian, and the school
